FROM PAPER TO COMPUTER HARD DRIVES!
The secure destruction of paper documents and other data carrying electronic mediums is a speciality of Scan Film or Store Ltd. We can arrange to collect and destroy ANY media and provide a Certificate of Destruction to complete your audit trail.
This secure destruction service can also be added to our scanning and microfilming services. Charges are based on weight or volume and we can arrange destruction of the following media:
- Any paper documents (even if they are in archive boxes or files)
All paper originals are securely destroyed by cross shredding and then pulping. The pulp is then sent on to paper mills where it is used in the manufacture of soft tissue products. Original documents are only destroyed following receipt of written confirmation that you are happy with the quality and layout of the database we have supplied. Charges for secure destruction are calculated on a per kilo basis.
- CD's or DVD's containing sensitive data
Disks containing data are shredded into small fragments and then recycled as required. Charges for destruction are calculated on a per disk basis.
- Magnetic computer tape e.g. computer back up tapes.
This can be either shredded and recycled or incinerated. Please call us to discuss your requirements. Charges for destruction are calculated on a per tape basis.
- Computer hard drives
These are logged at point of collection to record the hard drive serial number or other unique identifier. They are then placed into secure crates and security sealed. A receipt is then provided to the client prior to departure. The hard drives will be degaussed (a very strong electro magnetic current ‘wipes’ the data) and then they are physically shredded into miniscule metal chips to completely ensure that they can never be read. The metal chips are then recycled as scrap metal. Charges for destruction are calculated on a per hard drive basis.
- Microfilm and Microfiche Incineration
We offer guaranteed destruction of microfilm and microfiche records by incineration. Due to the high burn heat and the pathogens that are released during incineration, this part of the operation is provided to us by a certified partner. However we will manage the whole process from taking the fiche or film out of storage cabinets, placing them into security sealed and bar-coded bags, then we will transport them to the point of incineration using our own staff and vehicles. We will then oversee the incineration process so that we can issue a certificate of destruction providing you with complete peace of mind that your confidential records have been obliterated.
A Certificate of Destruction can be provided for the secure destruction of any of the above media.
